A few weeks ago, I attended ‘Ask Emmy’, a luxurious shoe event hosted by Emmy London. The boutique, located in Islington, was founded 12 years ago by Emmy Scarterfield who is also the Creative Director.
When I walked into the space, the journey from design to shoe was apparent. The computer workstation was in front of a wall with sketches, swatches, magazine cuttings and even wedding invitations. It was almost if you like, a wall of design inspiration. Attention to detail is clearly something of importance to the Emmy London brand, and this was evident in not only the shoes, but the design of the event.
As I glanced around the room with my drink in hand, I was taken aback by the intricate handmade beading on display. The items are classic and reminiscent of Art Deco designs.
For my wedding day, I like the idea of a kitten heel or something of similar height. My aim is to be as comfortable as possible on the day. I need to be able to walk around and more importantly, dance all night. As I walked towards the shoe display I was drawn to a shoe with a small heel. As they didn’t have the shoe height in my size, I tried on the same version of the shoe with a higher heel. I was worried about the height of the shoe, as I normally think the higher the heel, the less comfortable they will be! I was so surprised when I slipped on the shoes. Not only were they absolutely beautiful in every way, but the comfort of the shoe was like no other I have experienced.
I tried on the Cinderella shoe and fell in love. I must say I am somewhat obsessed with the elegant shoe as it gave me some much needed height, and the beaded detail is out of this world.
Emmy London has launched a range of jewellery available at H.Samuel-The Jeweller . The hand-crafted diamond collection has the same level of detail, which is something that is consistent with the brand.
If you are looking for a special pair of shoes, or accessories for your big day, I would definitely recommend Emmy London.
